Project Description

Unit 35987 in AlJadidah revealed severe structural damage to the main facade wall on the street. Over time, demolition and reconstruction of the adjacent buildings using concrete and cement block masonry also damaged the structures inside this unit.
The superstructures of this house suffered from successive collapses, and the tall facade wall was in imminent danger of collapse.
To secure the structural stability of this building and make the street safe, it was more than necessary to install scaffolding, propping and shoring systems immediately on the street facade and inside the unit before starting the cleaning and structural stabilization works.
The structural stabilization works were grounded on a thorough understanding of the building’s historical development and cultural significance.

The interventions included the reconstruction of the ground floor wall facade to stabilize the building along with the roof and the ceiling. The documentation collected allowed the reconstruction of doors and windows in their previous location.
