Project Description
The RCU (Royal Commission for AlUla) selected HCC to assess, develop, and implement the stabilization, consolidation, repair andrestoration program for the structurally unstable architectural remains located along a pathway stretch of 250 meters part of theHeritage Trail, a touristic path for visitors coming to AlUla Oasis
The interventions included the repairing and restoration of structurally unstable architectural remains. The main objectives were also to mitigate any health safety risk that these fragile remains might cause to the visitors and to reduce the risk of damage to the best-preserved portion of the Heritage Trail
The Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU) is developing the Dadan Heritage Trail to Old Town project, to offer visitors an extraordinarynature stroll through the oasis farm starting at Dadan South, arriving to Old Town and passing by Wadi Al-Qura area. The trail wascarefully chosen between Dadan and The Old Town of AlUla (The Oasis) with a total length of 3 km, connecting two ancientcivilizations separated by thousands of years of history.
However, the old architectural remains along the trail are highly fragile and at risk of collapse. The activation of the trail as touristicpaths in its existing state would have posed a health and safety risk, and increased the risk of damage to the best-preserved portionof the AlUla Oasis.
