Project Description
The RCU (Royal Commission for AlUla) engaged HCC as a main contractor to implement the structural stabilization of houses locatedin the North-Eastern edge of AlUla Old Town and the design and execution of stabilization and “mise en valeur” of Ain Tadal Qanatarea to allow pedestrian access to this sector.The aim of the project is to stabilize several heritage buildings in the Old Town of AlUla.
The project is divided into three streams:
Stream 1: (The total project area is: 1900 m2) Stabilization and consolidation of collapsed structures along the eastern edge of the Qanat – Hammam area and the restoration of the causeway connecting the incense road with Road 375:- Reinstate the connection of the Qanat area and the incense road.- Stabilize all structures existing in the area.- A well-thought-out design for the retaining walls holding up the incense road.- Conservation of the historical values and material expression of the area.
Stream 2: (The project’s total area is: 2100 m2) Stabilization of the North-Eastern side of Old Town (23 houses): – Stabilizing allstructures existing in the area.- Retention of the historical values and material expression of the area.
Stream 3: (The project’s total area is: 300 m2) Stabilization of buildings alongside street S.37. The works included the execution ofstructural stabilization and remedial conservation works of the buildings and associated tayarahs above the streets (5 Houses):- Stabilizing all structures existing in the area.- Conservation of the historical values and material expression of the area.
